COMBINATION TREATMENTS = CREATING THE BEST RESULTS IN THE LEAST AMOUNT OF TIME
Restoring volume in your face is one of the most effective and natural ways to look younger and more vibrant. Restylane and Juvederm treatments are a quick and effective way to give your face instant volume - smoothing out deeper lines and folds, and plumping lips for a youthful smile. The positive effects of Restylane and Juvederm are even more dramatic when used in combination with the smoothing effects of Botox. Botox not only smoothes fine lines and wrinkles - it also prevents new lines and wrinkles from forming! Both treatments can be performed in less than 15 minutes and typically do not require any downtime. Worried about facial skin laxity? Add Thermage to your treatment plan for a non-surgical face lift! Be proactive in maintaining your skin - call us for a complimentary consultation to see what combination treatments can do for you. You will be amazed by the results!

FAT INJECTIONS TO THE FACE
One of the best ways to help reverse the signs of aging is to add body fat to the face! Using gentle techniques, Dr. Naficy removes fat from the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks. Your own fat is then injected into the face to fill in wrinkles, correct nasolabial folds, or to plump lips. The greatest advantage of fat over Sculptra or Restylane is that it is 100% natural. Advanced Liposuction
For both men and women, liposuction can be used to diminish the volume of unwanted fat in certain anatomic locations, and improve the overall body contour immensely. Liposuction is a powerful technique when used in the appropriate patient.
Dr. Sattler offers a safe and effective liposuction technique called Fractional Liposuction. The success of this technique relies on careful analysis of the regions of excess fatty deposits that are unique to each patient. The technique is called 'Fractional' because liposuction is performed only in regions that benefit from treatment, and avoided in regions that may otherwise result in contour depressions and irregularities. Furthermore, the technique preserves the essential superficial fatty layer just beneath the skin surface, which is essential for smooth and consistent results from Fractional Liposuction.
Dr. Sattler's Fractional Liposuction techniques have the following set of unique features that offer you the best possible results with the greatest level of safety:
- Using his Fractional Liposuction technology, Dr. Sattler customizes the liposuction procedure to the unique contours of your body, limiting removal of fat to the zones of excess.
- Dr. Sattler uses IV sedation anesthesia to keep you as comfortable as possible yet avoiding some of the pitfalls of general anesthesia.
- All liposuction procedures are performed in a certified ambulatory surgery center, which is believed by most to be the safest environment for cosmetic surgery.
- The unique blend of tumescent anesthesia used by Sattler minimizes bruising and discomfort after liposuction.
- Using very small incisions and small caliber liposuction cannulae there are typically little/no signs that you have had liposuction.
- There is no chance of skin burns as seen with laser liposuction or ultrasound liposuction techniques.
- For your safety Dr. Sattler limits the amount of liposuction performed in one session to a 'safe level' that is proven to be significantly safer than amounts in excess of that level.

What is unique about Fractional Liposuction?
Rather than treating an entire anatomic unit (the thigh, for example), with Fractional Liposuction, you received treatment only in regions where fat has accumulated abnormally. The surgical plan is created after close analysis of the relationships of the fatty deposits to the 'zones of adhesion'. Regions called 'zones of adhesion' are avoided in Fractional Liposuction because treatment of them results in contour abnormalities. The technique is designed to emphasize the underlying muscular anatomy and complement the positive portions of the patient's figure. Fractional Liposuction uses tumescent anesthesia and smaller cannulae to target specific regions of the abdomen, back, breast and arms and thighs. There is absolutely no chance of burning the skin, as is seen with other liposuction techniques involving ultra-sound or lasers.
Because the result is a smoother, more pleasing contour that is designed to avoid surface contour irregularities of the skin. By selectively treating certain areas of the body, cosmetic results are optimized. In the graphic below, Fractional Liposuction treatment areas are marked in 'blue'. 'Zones of adhesion' in which liposuction results in contour abnormalities are marked in 'red'.

Fractional Liposuction zones are shown in blue.

Why is Fractional Liposuction safer than laser and ultrasound liposuction?
Fractional Liposuction has an excellent safety record. Unlike laser liposuction or ultrasound liposuction, there is no possibility that you could be burned during a Fractional Liposuction procedure. The Fractional Liposuction device uses no heat source. It removes fat from the treatment area efficiently, with no trauma or burning to the skin overlying the treatment area.
Advocates of the laser liposuction and ultrasound liposuction claim that the burning heat produced by these devices causes the skin to shrink over the treated area. The manufacturers of these devices claim to create skin retraction by literally burning the skin from the inside out. Studies have shown that in order for this thermal skin retraction to occur, the skin must be significantly heated to dangerously high levels that often burn the skin. In addition to the added risk of laser liposuction, recent studies published in medical journals have shown that there is no significant clinical improvement in the results of patients treated with laser liposuction, compared to liposuction without use of a laser.
Does Fractional Liposuction result in any skin retraction?
Substantial skin retraction is seen with Fractional Liposuction. The skin retraction seen with Fractional Liposuction is a result of your skin's own elastic properties. After a Fractional Liposuction treatment, your skin is left in healthy condition, with a normal blood supply to it. Its natural elastic properties retract around the reduced volume of the treatment area, leaving a smooth and natural contour. The long-term condition of your skin will remain unaffected by the use of Fractional Liposuction techniques. Results are best in patients that have youthful and elastic skin.
How does the Fractional Liposuction procedure work?
Prior to your procedure, Dr. Sattler will take photographs of you, and will use these photos to create a customized Fractional Liposuction Treatment Plan. Regions to be treated are carefully marked. The regions in which treatment may result in contour depressions are also marked, in order that these areas can be avoided. At the beginning of the procedure, a special blend of numbing fluid is infiltrated into the treatment areas. Small cannulae (tubes) are used to evacuate fat in regions that need therapy. Great care is used to limit liposuction in other regions that are known to result in contour deformities. It is essential that the surgery be done with close attention to the amount of fat removed.
What type of anesthesia is used?
Fractional Liposuction is performed by a Plastic Surgeon, in a certified operating room, under the care of an anesthesia provider. IV sedation anesthesia is often used for Fractional Liposuction procedures. With IV sedation anesthesia, you will be given sedating medication through an intravenous line while being are closely monitored by the anesthesia provider. Most importantly, with twilight anesthesia, you are breathing on your own for the entire procedure. While undergoing a Fractional Liposuction procedure, you are asleep, and not aware of anything going on in the operating room.
Can Fractional Liposuction be done with other procedures?
Fractional Liposuction can be done in combination with other procedures, such as breast augmentation and a tummy tuck for a complete Mommy Makeover procedure. Body Liposuction can also be combined with any facial cosmetic procedure that we perform.
Can Fractional Liposuction be combined with Fat Grafting?
Our Fractional Liposuction can be combined with fat transfer procedures to the breast and buttock. Fat transfer, or fat grafting, is a technique that transfers fat from where you don't want it, and places it where you want more volume.
A Brazilian Butt Lift and Lipo Breast Augmentation are two procedures that can be combined with a comprehensive body liposuction procedure. The volume of your buttocks or breasts can be enhanced using your own living tissues, avoiding the use of an artifical implant device.
What is the recovery process like?
Dr. Sattler asks his patients to remain active after the procedure as this helps to prevent deep-vein thrombosis (DVT, or blood clots inside the vessels of the legs) and speeds recovery. Additionally, you will be asked to a wear a light compression garment (like Spandex) for 2 weeks post operatively to help maintain your new shape. Downtime is minimal due to the use of tumescent anesthesia and limited regions of treatment. Most patients are back at work in 2-3 days making this an ideal procedure for a weekend recovery. Results from liposuction tend to improve as the weeks pass after your procedure.
Can Liposuction be used for weight loss?
Liposuction is not a safe means of weight-loss, and is never a replacement for healthy diet management and a sound exercise routine. In fact, the best results with liposuction are seen in patients close to their ideal body weight that have 'stubborn' foci of fat distribution that can be significantly improved with liposuction. Men are at a bit of a disadvantage in this regard, as they tend to deposit some excess body fat in the intra-abdominal compartment, where it is inaccessible to liposuction. The maintenance of a stable body weight and routine exercise habits help enhance the result after liposuction.
Dr. Sattler works with some excellent dieticians and exercise trainers that can help you maintain your new body contour. He will be happy to make a referral for you as part of your individualized cosmetic treatment plan.
